## How it works

1. Point CtrlB at the S3 bucket your Datadog Log Archive writes to.
2. Grant a read-only IAM role (about 5 minutes).
3. Use Datadog exclusion filters to index less; keep only what monitors and dashboards use.

- Monitors and alerts on indexed logs
- Dashboards and log-based metrics (built from every ingested log)
- APM, infrastructure, on-call, and the Datadog Agent
